The University of Arkansas is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow – Lithium Metal Batteries. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research in developing advanced lithium-metal batteries (e.g., Li/NMC or Li/S) using atomic and molecular layer deposition or any feasible techniques. The position is expected to advance a better understanding of interfacial issues in lithium metal batteries during their electrochemical processes. In addition, this position is expected to develop new research directions, prepare proposals to secure external funding for research and commercialization of research, prepare journal and conference papers, and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers.

The department is seeking candidates with a strong background in controls, robotics, and/or automation. Candidates with existing applications to one or more particular industries are desired (e.g., aerospace, transportation, energy, defense, etc.). Both experimental and computational specialists are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of both scholarly activity and the ability to support a research program. Position Description:

Grow and profitably maintain Henkel’s General Industrial Adhesive Technologies business based in Detroit, Michigan with existing sales base in excess of $4M.
Prospect for new business opportunities while managing existing customer base.
Work through the sales process to identify, quantify and justify the appropriate value proposition for the individual customer matching their needs with our capabilities to provide a solution.
Motivate and train authorized industrial distributors to sell LOCTITE brand products and solutions.
Develop and present formal training sessions to industrial MRO customers.
Implement territory management and growth plans that align with the overall strategic directives of the business.
Develop strategies to support the profitable growth of Henkel’s product lines in the territory.
Prioritize, direct & execute sales programs for the assigned market areas.
Effectively communicate progress and needs to the management team.
Utilize Henkel’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to manage the sales and customer management processes.
Recognize competitive forces and implement sales strategies to offset them.

Qualifications:

3+ years of industrial or business-to-business sales experience

Time and project management skills required.
Team player who works well with others.
Experience working with industrial distribution is a plus
Overnight travel up to 25% required.

The American Red Cross has a Full-Time, Hourly Paid Donor Center Phlebotomist position open in Ann Arbor, MI. The hourly pay is $19.40 per hour plus a $750 sign-on bonus and other benefits and stipends.

About this Role: As a Donor Center Phlebotomist with the American Red Cross, you will work at fixed sites using automated phlebotomy procedures. To prepare for the role, you’ll receive paid training, which is a mix of classroom instruction and field practice.

Responsibilities:

Balance production, donor care, and quality requirements to meet daily blood collection goals
Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand the value of their donation
Be detail oriented all day, every day, to ensure that the blood you collect meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused
Remain flexible to work a highly variable schedule that includes early start times, late end times, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of our blood drive sponsors and donors
Interact in a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times
The aforementioned responsibilities of the Donor Center Phlebotomist describe the general nature and level of work and are not an exhaustive list.

Qualifications

Minimum one year of documented satisfactory performance in phlebotomy or equivalent position or other related equivalent experience is required. We offer paid training!
Customer service experience, effective verbal communication and public relations skills are required
A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required
Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes is required.

The department of Mechanical Engineering at Oakland University (OU) will be hosting a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Site, “AERIM: Automotive and Energy Research and Industrial Mentorship Program at Oakland University.” The focus will be automotive and energy-related research topics in mechanical engineering. The department is seeking to recruit talented and motivated undergraduate students from across the United States to spend 10 weeks in the summer working on a research project at OU and are especially interested in providing opportunities for women, underrepresented minority and first generation in college students.

Students will be provided with a $5,000 stipend, meal allowance and other support. No prior automotive or research experience is required.

The program is expected to be in-person from May 23 to July 29, 2022. Application deadline is April 4 and the selection committee will continue reviewing applications until all positions are filled. I am attaching the program announcement to this email.
