Kristine Barnes, PE
Kristine Barnes, PE is currently the Global Quality Lead for Bumper, Fascia, Grille, and Exterior Trim at General Motors. She is a Life Member of SWE has held numerous leadership roles at the Section, Region, and Society level since 2001 including Region Collegiate Representative, Collegiate Leadership Coach, Treasurer and President of the Chicago Regional Section, and Chair of the Society Finance Committee. Kristine received the WE Local ELiTE Award in 2019 and the SWE Emerging Leader Award in 2020. She is currently finishing her 3rd year as a SWE Senator and is looking forward to continuing to serve on the Senate as Deputy Speaker. In this role, she will be responsible for leading the development of the Society's next 3-5 year strategic plan.

Jennifer Morikawa
An active SWE member since 1997, Jennifer Chen Morikawa held positions at all levels of the Society starting from her collegiate years. She developed leadership, communication, project and people management capabilities in diverse SWE leadership roles: Detroit Section’s executive council including president and section representative, Region H secretary, lieutenant governor, and governor, and various Society Committees/task forces such as nominating, awards & recognition (chair), and program development grants. Jennifer enables changes for the Society such as the transition from Region Conferences to WE Local and introducing the first Endowed Scholarship for Community College students. As an advisor for SWE’s Asian Connections Affinity Group, she provides guidance to new SWE leaders and influences a diverse group of leaders to engage in the Society via leadership and recognition.
Jennifer earned a BSE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a MS in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Purdue University. She is a senior manufacturing engineer and business planner for General Motors (GM) in Manufacturing Engineering. At GM, Jennifer leads by influencing leaders on multiple levels within her organization to actively manage short-term and long-term goals, fosters collaboration cross functionally and globally to share best practices and create efficiencies for business operations.
