COMPES PDC 2023 will be held on Saturday, June 10, in-person at Toyota's R&D HQ in Saline, MI. The event this year will be a hybrid of both in-person and virtual sessions. So if you're not local, don't sweat. We will have attendees participating both in-person and virtually, so everyone will have the ability to attend your sessions, even if they are completely virtual. For speakers who will be attending in-person, we will also livestream the event so virtual attendees can participate.

This year's theme is "Building the Future Together," and the session tracks will be the same as last year; Mindfulness, Community, Professional Skills, Career Growth, and Technical Skills.

COMPES 2023 will be hosted by Toyota and promoted by Detroit's own WDIV Channel 4 News. We have a lot planned for this year's conference, including an in-person resume review, mock interviews, opportunities to network, and a conference After Party. If you would like to be a Speaker or Volunteer for this year's COMPES PDC, please feel out THIS FORM. We will send out another Call for Volunteers sign-up as we get closer to the conference date.

The deadline for Speaker submissions is March 31st. We will confirm with all selected Speakers by April 15th.

We are searching for volunteers to help with the STEM Powered Expo occurring at SWE's WE Local Detroit conference at Huntington Place on Saturday, February 18th from 1:00 to 3:30 pm.

​Duties include registration check in, crowd management, and set up/tear down. The SWE Youth Protection training must be completed in order to volunteer (~10 minutes).

What: Judges are needed for the Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit! SWE-D will be sponsoring an award for female identifying high school students with an exceptional project in an engineering field (including biomedical engineering, engineering mechanics, environmental engineering, embedded systems, energy: chemical, energy: physical, materials science, robotics, systems software).
When: March 15th between 8-4pm. Judging timing can be flexible based on your schedule.

The Detroit Section of the Society of Women Engineers is excited to start planning our annual Girls' Engineering Exploration (GEE) event. This interactive one-day event is designed to introduce STEM to 4th-8th grade girls, in the metro Detroit area, through fun and exciting activities and workshops. 

GEE will take place outside on the campus of Wayne State University in June 2023. The GEE Co-Chairs are currently recruiting planning committee volunteers and will host two virtual information sessions on February 20, 2023 at 7:00PM EST. The sessions will include an overview of last year's GEE event and this year's available committee positions. See the presentation here.

FutureSWE is an event that Wayne State SWE holds every year to invite high school students across Southeast Michigan to the Wayne State University campus for a full day of fun engineering activities from all different disciplines, guest speakers, lunch, and more! The goal of this event is to encourage high school girls to pursue a career in engineering after high school. While this event is aimed at girls, both male and female students are invited.
 
When: Saturday February 25th from 8am-5pm, volunteers can choose morning shift, afternoon shift, or full day.
