Girls’ Engineering Exploration (GEE) is a full day event that allows girls in 4th-8th grade an opportunity to meet female engineers and be exposed to exciting career paths through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities. The girls will be able to experience the creativity, innovation, and fun that goes on in the field of engineering. The event is FREE for registered students, parents, and teachers! This year’s GEE is back IN PERSON and outdoors on Saturday, June 4th at Wayne State University. The GEE committee chairs (Sabrina Ridenour, Sam Poeppelman, and Sheila DeLapp) can be reached at SWEDetroitGEE@gmail.com with any questions.

The first half of the session will feature general information about and best practices for interacting with and supporting SWENext Clubs, while the second half of the presentation will include two breakout rooms that will go into more depth on the roles of different types of adult advocates. This session is recommended for all types of adult advocates that are interested in working with SWENexters and SWENext Clubs, or are parents of a SWENexter!
