A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who supported the scholarship: organizing, publicizing, and of course contributing financially!! Extra special thanks and love go out to Josie’s husband and our diversity partner: Pat Hillberg, who supported our ideas, challenged us, and provided us with a platform to create change. We have made history and influenced SWE’s Society level to update their scholarship program to allow for community college students to become eligible for many of SWE’s other scholarships. Our first recipient will be selected next spring and they will receive their scholarship when they enter their fall term in 2019. If you are interested in helping us create criteria, advertise for applicants, and/or select the first and future recipients of the Josie E. Rewald Memorial Scholarship, please contact Jenny Morikawa or Lisa Purvis at swe_detroit@swe.org. We also have two other endowed programs in the works: SWE 4 Life Endowed Scholarship Program and the Rewald/Perazza Torch Award Endowed Program. Keep your eyes out for future posts on those.
Once again - HUGE Thanks to our supporters who have donated to the scholarship:
