May 17th - “What is STEM?” - offered for middle schoolers
May 19th - “Pursuing STEM” – offered for high schoolers
This event aims to create STEM awareness to Latina middle-schoolers and encourage high-schoolers to see their own STEM future!
We’ll achieve this by providing a hands-on interactive STEM activity from KiwiCo, a panel of college and professional female engineers to help them understand the feasibility of pursuing a college degree, and a keynote speaker whom is part of an amazing NASA mission of returning astronauts to the moon... including the first female astronaut to step foot on the moon!
In addition, parents are highly encouraged to attend and learn about college financial aid opportunities. The financial aid session for parents will be offered in both English and Spanish.
We would love to have students take advantage of this free event hosted by SHPE Region 6.
