As leaders and members of the Society of Women Engineers Detroit Section, we share our member's concerns regarding these issues. Access to adequate and equitable healthcare for all, including access to full reproductive healthcare, directly supports SWE's mission to advance women in engineering and technology. We want to make it clear to our members that SWE and SWE Detroit stand for ALL women's rights, including equitable access to healthcare.
In addition to this statement, the Society of Women Engineers is taking direct action on the matter of reproductive rights, including not signing any new contracts to host conferences in locations where there are limits to reproductive and gender-based healthcare. SWE will also continue to use its reach and status to advocate for policies that break down barriers for women in engineering and technology and be inclusive of this framework in outgoing advocacy efforts.
Sincerely,
Nikita Tiwari | FY23 SWE Detroit Past President
Kristin Zatwarnicki | FY23 SWE Detroit President
Molli Andor | FY23 SWE Detroit President Elect
